GIVE FROM YOUR DONOR ADVISED FUND
Donor Advised Funds are rapidly growing as one of most impactful forms of philanthropy—both during your lifetime and as part of your charitable estate.
Ask your financial advisor if they offer Donor Advised Funds or reach out to the Foundation at (212) 561-4588 or GoldenDoor@libertyellisfoundation.org for recommendations. You can even create a fund in the name of a loved one, to honor and recognize them through your philanthropic contributions.
When you move financial assets into a fund, you’ll receive a charitable tax deduction in each year that you contribute to your fund.
The money will remain in the fund—invested, with growth potential over time—until you decide to distribute it to The Statue of Liberty-Ellis Island Foundation or other charities, with no capital gains tax on the appreciated assets and none of the legal, administrative, or reporting requirements associated with a private foundation.
